- How do I connect my computer in my dorm room to the network?
Go to the connections page for information on how to connect your computer to the network. The typical steps required for your computer to be connected include filling out a form with IT and then making some changes to your computer's network settings. After IT processes your form and you make the changes in your computer, you should be able to connect to the network.

- How long will it take to get my computer connected?
If you are on-campus, please allow IT a couple of days to process your connection request. You can verify your connection by visiting popular websites with your browser.

- What is an ethernet card?
An ethernet card is required to connect your computer on-campus. An ethernet card is a piece of hardware with a plug in the back of your computer similar to a phone jack that will allow your computer to be connected to the network. Normally, Apple computers are sold with an ethernet card included while PC systems require an additional purchase.

- Can I access my home space from my dorm room or from off-campus?
You may access your Home Space from any on-campus PC or, which includes your dorm room. You may access your Home Space from off-campus connections by using Secure-FTP to send/receive files.

- I can't save to my home space.
Go to Account Manager within the Campus Portal at http://my.ringling.edu and verify that you have not reached your disk limit. If you have reached your disk limit, you will have to delete files from your home space to make room. You can backup your files by burning them on a CD before you delete them. If you have not reached your disk limit, contact us through Support Central at http://my.ringling.edu.

- How do I check-out a piece of AV equipment?

- I can't print in the computer labs. What's going on?
Perhaps you have reached your print limit. Please check out the information on the Student Print Policy and additional printing limit information available online. Check your current remaining print limit balance online via the Ringling College web portal, http://my.ringling.edu. After logging in, click on "Account Manager".
